Winter Jam returning to Tampa with Newsboys, Lecrae

The largest annual concert tour in Christian music is coming back to Tampa.

The 47-city Winter Jam Tour Spectacular, headlined by veteran rock band Newsboys will stop at the Forum Jan. 11.

Also set to perform are Grammy-winning rapper Lecrae, Tenth Avenue North, Thousand Foot Krutch, Plumb, NewSong and Colton Dixon.

Nick Hall, an emerging star in youth evangelism, and founder of the Minnesota-based PULSE ministry, will deliver a spiritual message during the concert.

Additionally, an iDisciple App Pre-Jam Party will feature Love & The Outcome, Everfound and Derek Minor, a Forum news release said.

Admission to the concert will be $10 at the door, with no ticket required.

Founded in 1995 as January Jam, the tour had its most successful year ever in 2013, selling out 42 arena dates and playing to a combined total audience of more than 553,000 people, a tour news release said.

New this year, an official Winter Jam App is available for Android and iOS devices.

The four-time Grammy-nominated Newsboys have released 16 albums and earned five gold certifications. Their most recent release, “God’s Not Dead,” came out in 2012.
