After several weeks of competition, Tampa band Dropin Pickup won the fourth annual Ultimate Bands Series at The Ritz Ybor on Saturday.

The six-piece folk rock band from Tampa beat out other finalists Lions After Dark, from Clearwater, Airsickness, from Palmetto, and Stonegrey, from Land O' Lakes, to claim the grand prize worth more than $4,000 in future gigs, studio time and cash.

For the finals, the bands performed two original songs and one cover song by an '80s hair band. Dropin Pickup performed “You Give Love a Bad Name” by Bon Jovi, along with original songs “Poseidon” and “Alexander Supertramp.”

Videos of the performances can be seen at youtube.com/user/jamesgproductions84.

Previous winners of the Ultimate Bands Series include Mighty Mongo (2010), The James-Lange Theory (2011) and Rising Down (2012).
