Sugarland’s Jennifer Nettles to play Ruth Eckerd

Published:

Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland has scheduled a stop on Feb. 27 for her “That Girl” tour at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.

Nettles is the lead vocalist for Sugarland, who along with guitarist Kristian Bush, appeared on the music scene in 2004 and has since sold 14 million albums.

The “That Girl” album is scheduled to be released Jan. 14, and it is the first music she has developed without Bush. Sugarland is on hiatus.

“I think this album so far for me musically has been the most intimate and personal ... musically and vocally,” Nettles said.

The native of Douglas, Ga., has won five ASCAP awards for songwriting, and in 2008 won a Grammy Award, ACM Award and CMA Award for writing the No. 1 hit “Stay.”

Tickets for the 8 p.m. show go on sale at noon Saturday. Prices are $75, $59.50, $49.50 and $39.50.
