Fans of The Monkees, unable to see the iconic 1960s band perform during its 2012 reunion tour, will get a chance when it plays Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater this summer.
Tickets for the July 28 show go on sale Saturday at noon.
The surviving band members – Michael Nesmith, Micky Dolenz, and Peter Tork – are back due to overwhelming demand from fans unable to see their limited run last November.
The tour, called “A Midsummer’s Night With The Monkees,” will feature such classic hits as “Last Train To Clarksville,” “I’m A Believer” and “Pleasant Valley Sunday.” It also will include rare films and photographs from the band’s early days.
The trio is touring without popular frontman Davy Jones, who died in February 2012 of a heart attack at age 66.
Reserved tickets for the 8 p.m. show range from $50 to $125 and will be available at the Ruth Eckerd Hall ticket office at 1111 McMullen Booth Road in Clearwater or by calling (727) 791-7400. Tickets also can be purchased at at
