Machine Gun Kelly concert moved to Ritz Ybor

Machine Gun Kelly is known for literally bringing the house down when he visits Tampa.

The Cleveland rapper performed the final show at the old Green Iguana Hawaiian Village before it was bulldozed in 2012, and tried helping the process along by breaking windows and inviting the audience to break along with him.

MGK will be back in Tampa on Saturday to perform in Ybor City. The concert has been moved from the Amphitheatre Event Facility to the larger capacity The Ritz Ybor theater a block away.

He hasn’t had any trouble selling out shows in the Tampa Bay area since gaining a level of notoriety locally for an alleged bar brawl in St. Petersburg that reportedly involved as many as 75 people. Wild performances, including one at 94.1 Wild Splash where he climbed to the top of the scaffolding above the stage have helped even more.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Saturday for the all-ages performance. Tickets are $20.

Other high-profile concerts recently announced by The Ritz include Washed Out (Sept. 14) and Chvrches (Oct. 6).
