Cuban-born singer Jon Secada will perform at Hot Havana Night, a Cuban-themed fundraiser that includes cigar rolling, Cuban cuisine and tropical drinks at The Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg.
The event, taking place Oct. 25 from 7 to 11 p.m., will transform the downtown theater’s atrium into a “tropical paradise,” and will also feature prize drawings and a performance by the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, a news release from The Mahaffey said.
Tickets are $50 from TheMahaffey.com or by phone at (727) 893-7832.
Secada, a two-time Grammy winner, began his career as a backup singer for Gloria Estefan, before launching a solo career that led to hits such as “Just Another Day” and “Angel.”
Hot Havana Night will raise funds for the Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts, which supports the theater’s cultural programming, such as Class Act performance series for children.
