Goo Goo Dolls top Acoustic Christmas show at Mahaffey

ST. PETERSBURG – The Goo Goo Dolls top the three-band marquee for MIX 100.7’s Acoustic Christmas show at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at The Mahaffey Theater.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for are $39, $59 and $139.

The Goo Goo Dolls made their mark 20 years ago and have released a new album, “Magnetic.” Renowned for its commercially successful 1998 single “Iris,” the band has released nine albums, had 14 top ten singles on various charts and sold more than 10 million albums worldwide. “Iris” was ranked No. 1 on Billboard’s “Top 100 Pop Songs 1992-2012” chart last October.

Also performing will be The Fray, a rock band from Denver, that achieved national success with its debut album, “How to Save a Life,” in 2005. The single, “Over My Head (Cable Car),” was a Top 10 hit in the United States, and the release of a second single, “How to Save a Life,” brought worldwide.

Musician and songwriter ZZ Ward sings soul, blues, pop and hip-hop and released her debut album, “Til the Casket Drops,” in October 2012. Her first single, “Put the Gun Down,” broke into the Top 10 on the AAA radio chart earlier this year.
