UNDATED (AP) — Dwyane Wade says he always felt his return to the Miami Heat would happen. In an interview with The Associated Press, Wade says the trade that sent him back to Miami has him ready to accept whatever role he's about to have with the Heat. TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Nikita Kucherov stopped an 11-game goal drought, Andrei Vasilevskiy made 27 saves for his NHL-best 32nd victory, and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Vancouver Canucks 5-2. Yanni Gourde, Adam Erne, Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman also scored for the Lightning, who returned home after a 5-3 road trip. Vancouver's Brock Boeser scored his 26th goal.

PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns acquired point guard Elfrid Payton from the Orlando Magic for a second-round pick this summer. Payton is averaging a career-high 13.0 points and shooting career bests of 52.0 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from 3-point range this season.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Shakayla Thomas scored 20 points, A.J. Alix added 17 and No. 12 Florida State turned back Virginia 77-62 on Thursday night. Imani Wright added 14 points and Nicki Ekhomu 11 for the Seminoles (20-4, 8-3 Atlantic Coast Conference), who reached 20 wins for the 12th time under coach Sue Memrau Felicia Aiyeotan had 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Cavaliers (15-9, 8-3).

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Roshunda Johnson scored 22 points, Teaira McCowan notched her 17th double-double of the season and No. 2 Mississippi State stayed undefeated with a 98-50 victory at Florida. The Bulldogs never trailed. They hit three 3-pointers to open the game and doubled up Florida on the scoreboard by the end of the third quarter.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Adjin Penava had his 11th double-double of the season with 25 points and 12 rebounds and Jon Elmore added 22 points as Marshall beat Florida International. FIU led just once all game, as Brian Beard Jr. opened scoring with a layup.
