The planned Epicurean Hotel, which is partnering with Bern's Steak House, has named Tom Haines as general manager to help open and run the 137-room, food-focused boutique.
Haines has nearly 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, most recently a executive assistant manager at the Italian-themed, 750-room Loews Portofino Bay Hotel in Orlando.
He has also worked at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay and Hyatt Regency Tampa.
The Epicurean is a joint project by Bern's Steak House and the Marriott-affiliated Autograph Collection string of individualized hotels.
The Epicurean is scheduled to open in November 2013 across South Howard Avenue from Bern's. It will have a modern culinary classroom, gourmet restaurant, wine shop, rooftop lounge, full-service spa, and a retail and production bakery and pastry shop.
