Arthur Rutenberg Homes, among the Bay area's most well-known home builders, is showing off a new model at LandMar's Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville.

"It's very exciting to have [one of] Florida's legendary builders opening a new model at Southern Hills Plantation Club," says Jim Doyle, vice president of marketing for LandMar. "This will be an important addition to the already impressive collection of homes on display at Southern Hills Plantation Club.''

The gated, country club community named Arthur Rutenberg Homes by Lyons Heritage Pasco as one of its preferred custom builders for Southern Hills Plantation Club's estate and mansion lots last year. The opening of the model formally marks the builder's presence within the community.

"With home sites offering spectacular golf course, lake and woodland views, the award-winning Arthur Rutenberg designs are a perfect fit for Southern Hills," says Grady Miars, regional manager for LandMar Group.

Rutenberg's Camellia is a split floor plan that offers home buyers a wealth of luxury in 3,650 square feet of living space, says Southern Hills Sales Manager Steve Erick.

"It features an outdoor living area complete with kitchen and fireplace. It has an impressive pool area with an expanded cabana. With the kitchen and fireplace, it brings the home's size to more than 5,000 square feet.''

Featuring three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a den and a leisure room, the house is designed for a growing or extended family, Erick says. It also features wood cabinetry in the kitchen, tile flooring in the wet areas and plenty of architectural details.

"Bringing the Arthur Rutenberg name to Southern Hills and Brooksville is a great addition to the community," Doyle says.

The model is on a lot fronting the first green of Southern Hills Plantation Club's award-winning golf course designer by Pete Dye. The 18-hole, par-72 championship course features elevations unlike any others in Florida, Miars says.

"The course is ranked 30 on the 2006 Top 50 Best New Courses and 77 on the 2006 Top 100 Residential Courses by GolfWeek magazine,'' he says.

The community's full-time lifestyles director can guide residents to a variety of activities, including tennis, golf, kayaking excursions, water aerobics and book clubs.

"Our amenity package is a big draw for home buyers,'' Miars says. "We're finding that our buyers enjoy what we have to offer for leisure activities as much as they like our houses and floor plans.''

Along with four Har-Tru tennis courts, Southern Hills Plantation Club offers residents a spa and fitness center that features spa treatment rooms, salon and steam rooms, a resort-style, heated pool with a lap area, state of the art exercise and fitness equipment and a 20,000-square foot clubhouse with the Grand Dining room, a private dining room and a separate lounge.

"Lou Giglio of Top Seed Tennis will be working closely with our club team to assist with tennis programming to make sure this beautiful facility is utilized to the fullest," Miars says.

The lower level of the clubhouse features a PGA pro-managed golf shop, men's and women's lounges and locker rooms and a screened cigar patio. A snack bar also is available for residents and members' enjoyment.

When complete, Southern Hills Plantation Club will feature about 1,000 homes. The community is on the east side of U.S. 41 in Brooksville, three miles south of historic downtown.

The sales center and models are open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. For information, call 1-888-764-4559 or visit www.sohilly.com.
