McDonald’s flips iconic logo in support of International Women’s Day

McDonald's flipped its iconic golden arches into the shape of a "W" in celebration of International Women's Day. Only one location physically changed its signs but the other locations changed their signage and the corporation changed its icons for social media posts.

In a sign of what they hope signals support, McDonald’s has flipped its iconic double arches into a "W" to celebrate International Women’s Day.

In one location, at Lynwood, Calif., the actual exterior and street sign have been flipped. But for most locations, the tribute has been limited to advertisements and uniforms.

Only 100 locations are reported to have changed the logo across the country, reports CNN.

According to a release by the fast food giant, 6 out of 10 managers in their U.S. restaurants are women.

The announcement has been met with mixed reactions. with some hailing the move as a unique and surprising signal of support while others consider the move "not enough."

McDonald’s has refused to support workers’ demands for a living wage and ignored sexual harassment complaints, but it’s flipping some arches to make a W so all good!
