PALM HARBOR — Here's some numbers that mattered Thursday after the first round of the Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Golf Resort's Copperhead course.


Number of players who broke par, 14 in the morning, 13 afternoon.


The par-4 was the hardest hole in Round One with a 4.340 scoring average. Tiger Woods saved par on it with a wicked approach shot from the trees.


Number of bogey-free rounds: Jimmy Walker (69), Luke Donald (70)


The low round on the front nine, carded by first-round leader Corey Conners.


Players who posted the lowest back-nine score of 32: Stephan Jaeger, Rory Sabbatini and Steve Stricker.


Top percentage of greens in regulation Thursday, hit by Blayne Barber, Steve Stricker and Stewart Cink, who is tied for eight place at 1-under par.


Length of the day's longest drive by Ollie Schniederjans, a three-time All-American at Georgia Tech and the former No. 1-ranked amateur player, on No. 10.
