ST. LOUIS (AP) — Information technology consulting firm Perficient Inc. said Monday that it has acquired CoreMatrix Systems LLC in a $21.5 million deal that will expand its cloud computing services.
CoreMatrix, based in Red Bank, N.J., is a privately-held consulting firm that specializes in cloud computing, particularly in conjunction with salesforce.com, a specialty cloud computing software service that Perficient also uses. The company generates an estimated $15 million annually in services revenue.
Perficient has acquired a number of consulting firms that are providers of salesforce.com services. The St. Louis-based company said it now has the capacity to sell and deliver these products across the country.
Perficient expects the deal will add to its earnings per share immediately.
"Cloud computing has emerged as a key enabler for business efficiency and agility. There is a growing demand from enterprises to move their operations to the cloud to reduce costs, empower business innovation, and create responsive and social organizations," Kathy Henely, Perficient's chief operating officer, said in a statement.
Perficient paid $18.5 million in cash and $3 million in Perficient common stock. There may be additional payments of up to $10 million based on certain financial achievements and working capital provisions.
Shares of Perficient added 82 cents, or 4.3 percent, to $20.12 in midday trading.
