INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Coby Fleener is emerging as the player the Colts envisioned.
He's catching passes and making big plays. He's stretching defenses and helping the run game. He's becoming a favorite receiver again for Andrew Luck, his former college teammate, and the confidence is showing up in his productivity, too.
A year ago, he caught 26 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns. This year, with Dwayne Allen out with a season-ending injury, Fleener has blossomed with 12 catches, 166 yards and two TDs.
It's just what the short-handed Colts needed from the guy they took with the 34th overall selection in the 2012 draft.
