INDIANOLA, Iowa (AP) — Voters in the Indianola school district have approved two bond issues that total around $29 million.
A maximum $23 million issue was approved in Tuesday's special election by more than 76 percent of the voters. The measure will pay for security improvements at three elementary buildings and the high school. Bond money also will be spent on updating heating, cooling and plumbing systems at two of the elementary schools.
The maximum $6 million issue approved by nearly 64 percent of the voters will pay for a new varsity athletic stadium for football and other events. The district currently pays Simpson College to use its facilities.
