Tampa has spent the past few months polishing up for the Republican National Convention.

Potholes were filled, trees were planted, signs were reworded, and landmarks were renovated.

But when asked by News Channel 8 reporter Adrienne Pedersen to describe Tampa, the one word that came to mind for most people was humid.

That's right, they couldn't see past the humidity.

Oh, some people used different words to describe it – muggy, summer, hot – but more times than not, humid was the first word out of their mouths.

"It's like running through the desert and having water balloons thrown at you hot," one creative RNC attendant answered when pressed to elaborate. "It's that bad. You know the proverbial phrase a loose person in church; you are sweating like a loose person in church? That's how you feel in Tampa from morning until night."

Not the best first impression of Tampa.

Hopefully they'll come back in February.
