When you think of animals rescuing humans, one usually thinks of dogs, maybe dolphins.

One usually doesn't think about a cat.

A video posted on YouTube, however, shows an unlikely feline charging in when a dog attacks a little boy.

The surveillance video posted by Roger Triantafilo of Bakersfield, Calif., shows his 4-year-old son playing on a small bicycle in a driveway, and a dog sneaking up behind him and biting him on his leg.

A cat then jumps on the dog, who runs away with the cat in pursuit. The cat then returns to the boy's side as he gets up and runs toward the house.

The video then shows the boy's wounds and his stitches.

According to NBC News, the boy's mother, Erica Triantafilo, told NBC affiliate KGET that she was outside at the time and when she tried to chase the dog further away, it bit her, too.

The boy received 10 stitches at a local hospital, she said. He is recovering at home, according to NBC.
