BROOKSVILLE — A man reported running naked near Oakdale Avenue and Sharon Street Wednesday was arrested on fraud charges for giving a fake name to Hernando deputies.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the area, just west of Ponce De Leon Boulevard, around 4:45 p.m. after neighbors complained a man in various states of undress was running between yards.

Eddie Johnson, 28, was located about 10 minutes later, wearing clothes at that time, an arrest affidavit shows. He gave the deputies a false name and birthday.

Johnson, of Marion, N.C., was held until he gave his correct name and birthday.

Johnson was booked on a misdemeanor fraud charge of providing a false name to a law enforcement officer, and is being held on $250 bond.
