A 13-month-old boy's visit to the Oregon Zoo in Portland has attracted national attention with video showing a lion trying to claw and bite the boy on the other side of a glass wall.

The video shows the lion frantically pawing at the glass and opening wide to take a bite of the boy, Jack Baltzor, who is wearing a black-and-white striped hoodie.

All the while, Jack, sitting next to the glass, seems curious but unfazed by the commotion behind him.

Apparently, Jack's outfit looked appetizing to the lion. The animal may have confused Jack for a baby zebra.

His mother, Heather Baltzor, of Bend, Ore., put the video up on Facebook. It didn't take long for the lion's failed pursuit to go viral.
