DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) — Motown singer and Motor City ambassador Martha Reeves will deliver the keynote address at a Detroit area public forum dealing with building a diverse, inclusive community through the arts.
Reeves, who rose to fame as a member of Martha and the Vandellas and later served on the Detroit City Council, speaks Wednesday at the Arab American National Museum in suburban Dearborn. The Forum on Community, Culture and Race also will feature a panel discussion featuring artists and community leaders.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Concert of Colors. The festival aims to celebrate southeastern Michigan's musical and ethnic diversity.
