TUCSON, Ariz. – Two brothers have been arrested in a Tucson road rage incident in which a 9-year-old girl was shot in the leg.

Tucson police say 19-year-old Oscar Santa Maria and 20-year-old Carlos Santa Maria have been booked into Pima County Jail on suspicion of drive-by shooting.

They say Carlos Santa Maria also is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say the road rage incident started as a traffic argument between the drivers of an SUV and car Thursday night and led to an exchange of gunfire from both vehicles.

The girl suffered a non-life threatening injury and was transported to a Tucson hospital for treatment.

Police say charges are pending against the SUV’s driver, whose name wasn’t immediately released today.
