Then & Now: Madison Street at North Morgan, 1930 and 2014

Published:

If you were looking to grab a quick sandwich and a Coke in downtown Tampa in 1930, you could have stopped by this little food stand on Madison Street at North Morgan. A sign above the shop proclaimed it also sold cigars, cigarettes, candy, ice cream and hot coffee.

Looking from the same vantage point today, the food stand and the house behind it are long gone, replaced by a parking lot for St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, whose steeple and roof are visible in the background of both photos.
