Sometimes, after a long day, you don’t feel like cooking. And on even longer days, you don’t even feel like getting in your car to go anywhere. At my apartment last week, we found ourselves in that predicament.
Earlier in the week, Temple Terrace Pizza had dropped off a flier with an array of pizza options and, perhaps more importantly this day, the fact that they delivered.
There were some tempting options for us to order. They have Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Hawaiian Pizza, wings, subs and calzones. But we wanted to go big. Really big.
We opted for the 28-inch pepperoni pizza.
Ordering was straightforward. They told us it would take about 45 minutes and they were not wrong. We finally got a knock on our door with our 28-inch colossus waiting for us, smack dab within the 45-minute time frame.
Let me give you an idea how big a 28-inch pizza is. First off, no, the team of my roommate, his girlfriend and myself did not finish it. We only finished about half because we weren’t attempting to turn this into “Man vs Food.” To give you an idea of how big this pie was, we had ours sliced 16 times — slices so big that they don’t actually fit into a microwave for reheating.
The pizza itself was kind of a New York Style. The crust was thin and there was a noticeable amount of grease on the slices. We did not mind the grease, but acknowledge it might not be for everyone.
At $23 for a base price before any delivery charge or tip, it’s not a bad deal at all. My roommate’s girlfriend made the comment, “Who thought this was a good idea?” If there are only three of you, it’s probably not. If you have a group of six or so, the 28-inch pepperoni pizza might just be what you are looking for.
